It is had to believe that it has been five years to the day that Anna Nicole Smith passed away. She was a true inspiration to curvy women everywhere. Never afraid to flaunt her curves, Anna was a one of the first superstar plus size models working for major brands like Guess, H&M, and Lane Bryant.

Curly blonde locks, fashionable, flirtatious, curvy, foodie, overly dramatic, demanding, powerful, and boy boy crazy,  – no I am not talking me! LOL This post is about the one and only… Miss Piggy!!!

Over a year ago I had a business meeting with Disney Canada and they shared the plans with us for the new Muppets Movie, and during this presentation they disclosed to us that Miss Piggy would be featured in the movie as the Plus Size Editor of Vogue Paris. I was so excited to hear this, and finally last week I was able to see Miss Piggy grace the big screen! She was just as fabulous as I remember as a child. If you grew up with The Muppets or not the movie is a must see!

Confident and curvacious, Miss Piggy has been workin’ her curves since 1974. She was fashionably curvy before the concept of plus size fashion was even invented. Her larger than life attitude and constant reinvention of her fashion and hairstyles has proven Miss Piggy as the original plus size diva.

Although her moment as the Plus Size Editor of Vogue in the movie is brief the publicity surrounding the launch of the movie has been very worthy of the divine swine herself! Including a spread in November’s InStyle, wearing custom looks from a myriad of hot designers like Jason Wu, Brian Atwood and Prabal Gurung. The other night we were invited to an exciting event here in Toronto to support featuring Whitney Thompson (winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10) for plus size brand Allistyle, at Gussied Up. If you haven’t heard us rave about this adorable plus size boutique before, then here is your chance to! We absolutely adore this little fabulous shop just a few steps south of Dupont and Bathurst. Created by Victoria McGroarty, Gussied Up carries a wide assortment of merchandise, from basic tanks and leggings, cardigans and everyday tops to party dresses and designer plus size labels. They also carry Damn Heels, jewellery from local talent, fabulous purses & clutches and more! At Gussied Up every piece that Victoria brings into her shop goes against the traditional “too old lady” or “too hootchy” problem with plus size clothing. All the styles she retails are sexy, sophisticated and  we swoon each of them. So if you are in the area we highly recommend you stop by! Here is a sneak peak inside the store and the event…

So glad she loves her Canadian plus size girls and made the trip all the way to Gussied Up to support Allistyle and Gussied Up.
